The lamp puts out plenty of light for them to do homework. It’s nice that it has various color temperatures and a timer so they could even use it as a nightlight.

It seemed too good to be true…and it was. The light does not turn on when the power goes out. You have to take it out of the fixture it is in and screw it into a supplied base to get it to work without external power.
